Legio II Adiutrix

Camp Rules:

General Festival Rules:

1. No profanity in camp at any time when children or younger patrons are around.
2. No modern politics or religion to be discussed at any time. Discussion on Ancient Roman politics and religion, however, is encouraged.
3. Address each other only by our Roman names during events.
4. Guards will be posted in front of our encampment during festival hours to attract people. The guards will be rotated at regular intervals. If there are enough people, Romans will also wander the festival to entice people to visit our encampment.
5. Know about Legion II Aduitrix, and be able to answer questions about it. If everyone does a little bit of research and shares it with the group this will be easier, faster, and a lot more fun. Lucillia has lots of resources, and is very willing to share them with interested members of the legion. Also, Google and Wikipedia are your friends (usually).
6. If you don’t know the answer to something, don’t make something up. Ask one of the other members in the group. If none of us know the answer, we will look it up.
7. Blue is the official tunic colour of our legion, and they may be worn in camp by those who have them. During parades, red is the tunic the crowds want to see us in, so those will be worn at that time until we all have blue tunics.
8. If you wish to sit during a festival, you must bring your own chair, and it must be made out of wood or period-looking metal (i.e. no aluminium). No modern folding chairs will be allowed!
9. No under-aged drinking will be allowed in camp. The fines and mandatory jail time for over-age suppliers are way too steep.
10. No illegal drugs of any kind are allowed in camp at any time.
11. If you are planning on coming to, or have any questions about an event, you must contact Centurion Acadius Lucillius. He is the one who keeps track of the number of participants and is the contact person for the event coordinators, and must know that you are coming so that he can give the school or event coordinators an accurate count of our number for gate and parking passes. If you do not contact Acadius, you will not be able to participate in the event as a Roman.

Weapons Rules:

1. Siege weapons are to be operated by Romans only, and they must be in full gear in case of misfire.
2. One Roman should be on guard near the siege weapons at all times to keep patrons safe (especially children who like to ignore the ropes and play with the sharp shiny things).
3. When the pila are being thrown there will be at least one Roman on duty to keep patrons off of the range.
4. There will be one Roman instructor per patron throwing the pila.
5. Only one pilum will be thrown at a target at a time. Once it has been thrown, it will be collected from the range so as to prevent damage to the pila.

If you have any issues, questions, concerns, or possible additions to these rules, you need to take it up with either Centurion Acadius Lucillius or Domina Lucillia Velina.
